I watched a couple of wolverines mating yesterday, and it struck me how tender they were. The male would stroke the female's back, ever so gently with his razored talons. Just knowing he could maul her from that position must have been an incredible turn on for her. Sadly, they spotted me and made a duel attack. I made my escape by climbing a tree and using a branch to fend off their pursuit. They finished each other off below me hissing and glaring all the while. I crept away as they slept, sated in each other's paws.
